Probiotics - Another Bio-Ag Success Story
In many articles on animal nutrition, you have read about what probiotics are supposed to do. Bio-Ag Consultants & Distributors has several Enews letters outlining the benefits from using our probiotics.
For the last two years, Bio-Ag has been involved in a feeding experiment in China on Sika deer to see whether our probiotic would 'produce' to match our claims, making a difference on breeding and conception, on growth, on overall herd health, etc, etc.
Background:
China has a large area of hilly, mountainous country devoted to deer farming, with a limited amount of elk farming as well. The Chinese government has moved some land back to private contracts and as a result, in conjunction with a worldwide expansion of the acceptance of Chinese medicine, which combines both parts (i.e.. antlers, organs, etc.) with typical Chinese herbs, deer farming as a whole has expanded rapidly. In fact, some Chinese universities have whole departments devoted to doing research for the deer industry.
For Bio-Ag's Probiotic (Enzo-lac), a study has been carried on for two years on the Kada Deer Farm in Changchun. The study fed two grams per day of Bio-Ag's probiotic to one month before birthing and continued until the fawns were weaned. As well, two to three grams per day were fed to the fawns after weaning until eight months of age.
The cumulative results, reported at the recent international symposium on deer in China and part of the official report of the symposium, are nothing short of fantastic. The claims made by Bio-Ag for the efficacy and efficiency of its probiotic were proven above and beyond in this study.
Some of the results reported were:
#1 While mortality in the control group ran over 10%, mortality in Bio-Ag's probiotic test group was only 0.6%. Only three deaths in 500 deer on Bio-Ag's probiotic.
#2 The mean average length of the fawns was 23.1% longer for the Bio-Ag probiotic test group.
#3 The mean average height of the fawns was 15.5% taller for the Bio-Ag's probiotic test group.
#4 The mean average weight of the fawns was 31.6% more weight for the Bio-Ag's probiotic test group.
On a whole, it was reported at the symposium, health of both does and fawns seemed to be much better, and the first year females reached maturity much earlier and are breeding better.
In 2004, Chinese studies will take place on a large-scale examination of Bio-Ag's probiotic and its effect on male stags on the nutritional value of the antlers growth
as well as on the yield of the anthler. As this research progresses, Bio-Ag will bring forward the results as they are released.
Bio-Ag's Probiotic:
For those unfamiliar with Bio-Ag's probiotic, it has many attributes, which contributed to the success shown in the Chinese study. It contains:
#1 Lactic acid - nesessary in the whole Kreb's cycle process.
#2 Lactobacillus - to populate the gastrointestinal tract with beneficial microflora, thereby excluding pathogens which could harm the animal.
#3 A Prebiotic - a microbial growth factor to selectively stimulate the growth and activity of the beneficial bacteria, and to help stabilize blood sugar levels.
#4 Live plant enzymes - over 20 - preseerved and protected in our probiotic until they arrive in the gastrointestinal tract, where they activate to provide the enzyme boost.
These results are possible in your livestock whether it be other ruminants (cattle, sheep, goats), swine or fowl. Bio-Ag has studies available on our web site to show other outstanding results when using Bio-Ag's Probiotics.
Isn't it time you tried it on your farm?
Sincerely,
Murray Bast
